About Us

The Wahoops Youth Basketball Organization is a nonprofit organization that benefits the Wahoo area youth -- boys and girls grades 5-8.

Back in 1980, a group of parents with sons who liked the game of basketball founded the Wahoops Basketball Organization.  These parents decided if their children were going to play basketball they needed to learn early because basketball is a skilled game. 

The name “Wahoops” was developed from a combination of the town name and the slang term “hoops”, which is sometimes used to describe the game of basketball.

Over the years the Wahoops program has continued to grow and now offers an annual tournament open to all area youth to compete.
